Maintaining Materials

The Maintain Materials form is used to create and manage multiple material tracking records at the same time. Using this form, multiple records can be exported to Microsoft Excel, updates can be performed, and then the changes can be imported back into Prolog Converge.

To manage multiple material tracking records

  1. On the View menu, click Field Administration > Material Tracking >Materials > Maintain Materials.
  2. The Select Material Type window is displayed.

  3. From the Material Type drop-down list, select the material type to be used.
  4. Click Open.
  5. The Maintain Materials form is displayed. The material tracking records created using the selected material type are displayed in the grid.

  6. To add a new material tracking item row to the grid, click Add Material Tracking.
  7. A new row is added to the grid and displays the following fields:

    *This is a required field.

  8. To import an Excel spreadsheet, do the following:
    1. In the Select the Excel spreadsheet to import field, click Browse to locate the Excel spreadsheet to import.
    2. Select the spreadsheet to import, and then click OK.
    3. The file path and name of the selected Excel file is displayed in this field.

  9. To export the material tracking records as an Excel file, click Export.
  10. To save the changes and keep the form open, click > Save.
  11. —Or—

    To save the changes and close the form, click > Save and Exit.

    The status area at the top of the screen indicates the number of records affected. If an error occurs in a particular record, it is displayed in the Error column of the grid for the record.
